Whats wrong with my car? Loud humming sound!!?

When my car starts up its really loud. Its like the sound a normal car makes but times like ten. It humms and shakes a bit too!! Sometimes it'll stop making the noise completely, like at a red light, or whenever the car is not accelerating. It makes louder noises when going up a hill and it has a hard time picking up speed over like 60mph. I took it too Autozone and they hooked it up to a machine and it read that everything was fine!! I was told the noise could be muffler, exhaust, or a prob w/ the catalytic converter. I took it to a mechanic who said it just needed a tuneup but after the tuneup he said he realized its the engine.??? I dont know rather to trust this man and go ahead and get another engine when he misdiagnosed it in the beginning. Hes saying there was no oil in the engine and I know that can cause probs. But why would the machine read that the engine was just fine if its not? Help idk what too do!! Also when car starts up its very loud, break at light no sound, and put in park at idle after driving no sound again...idk weird!!
 
um check ur oil to start with.......o a oil change....."tune-ups" usually don't include oil changes......

then take it to a competent mechanic(some one who actually knows what they are doing{may have to pay for actual licensed mechanic}not ur friends uncle who works on cars)
