Ok so about 3 days ago I came home from a short trip to the store and I put my car in park in the garage and it was making a strange noise. I had my boyfriend look under the hood and he said the only thing he could see was the pully next to the power steering pump was wobbling. He told me it was probablly nothing so the next day I went to work (about an hour away.)
By the time I got there the noise was worse, it was like a rattling, definately didn't sound good, so I had some people look under the hood. After about 15 minutes of checking the oil, the power steering fluid, belt etc, etc they couldn't figure it out so I started heading back home. About 30 minutes in my battery light went on. Gas was running low anyway so I was about into the gas station when the steering became extremely tight. In reverse it was near impossible. The belt still spins by hand, it just doesnt spin by itself while running.
The power steering went out, but it isn't the pump. I left the car in the parking lot 30min away still so no ones had the chance to get a better look at it, other than a quick one under the hood, to tell me the belt still spins and it's not the power steering pump. I was told to start the car and the battery died. Any ideas, I have very little money so even if anyone just had a suggestion of what it might be, that'd be a big help!
