I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee, 2wd. The check gauges light came on so I did and my battery gauge had dropped all the way down to 9. I continued driving and after a few minutes my radio began turning on and off, after about 20 minutes or so my dash lights began dimming and I had a hard time keeping the same speed. Soon after my Jeep shut off. Would this be a problem with my alternator or battery? How likely is it that I can fix this problem on my own and how do I figure out what's wrong with her? By the way, I'm not exactly automobile savvy so it's cool if you can explain it in basic terms. Thanks for any and all help.
Ps. The battery is relatively new, however it's corroded, would that affect it too?
