What's wrong with my 95 Yamaha virago XV535?

So i have a Yamaha Virago XV535 with about 5000 miles on it. Just recently it started dying on me while i was driving on cold days(25 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit). I replaced the battery and every time i try to drive it the starter motor just clicks. Doesn't turn over or anything. I tried to put it in gear and start it by bump starting but it won't move. I also tried to put it into 5th gear and rock it but no luck. I was thinking it could either be a starter relay, starter motor, starter clutch, or possibly a locked up engine. I don't think its a locked up engine however because i have changed the oil every 1500 miles and there was plenty of oil in it when this happened. I appreciate any help!

If all it does is click, that's a good indication of a dead battery. You probably have a problem in the charging system. On old Yamahas, the first thing to look for is worn-out alternator brushes. Fortunately they are pretty easy and cheap to replace.

You can find out is the charging system is the culprit by fully charging the battery or boosting the bike from a car (the car engine should be off or idling, but not revving high). If the bike starts under these conditions, you now know where to look.
