Okay, so the OBD light came on last week, I took it to the Jeep dealer for and oil change and SUPPOSEDLY they fixed the line problem. They said that they replaced the Evap. line and the light went off. Now a week later, it's back and I'm pissed. I feel like I gave them money for nothing. I heard that there is more than one line so what should I do to find out what's REALLY wrong?
Reply: First off I am always polite when dealing with people because I work in customer service myself. No I didn't fill up while the car was running, what am I a moron? And no, I didn't check the gas cap, although I heard that could be the cause.

if it was a evap code.that turned the ses light on..this can be a very aggravating code for u and the technician....auto zone cant tell u whats wrong....we spend hours looking for small leaks in the systems....the tech at the dealer thought it was fixed.....call the service manager of the dealership and tell him your concerns...be polite and honest....see if u can work with him to repair this issue...don't be confrontational.....evap codes are very hard to repair at times .. scanners cant always pinpoint the problem..like many people seem to think...good luck..ps did u try a new gas cap? sometimes the seals are weak....did u fill the car while it was running? this could also set a code

Take it to an Auto Zone in your area. They will check it out for free and let you know what is wrong with it. If there are no Auto Zones in your area, a parts store of any worth can do it as well.

My husband is a mechanic and has been for over 20 years, sorry that doesn't solve your problem! LOL but really he would suggest taking it back and make them fix their own mistake, it will be free to you if you kept your reciepts, all you do it take it back show them the reciept and TELL them you want it fixed and TELL them you want to speak to a real mechanic to explain what is happening!!! THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT AND MECHANICS DON'T LIKE COMEBACKS!! you take it back and the mechanic who worked on it the first time needs to fix it and fix it right! or they fire them dealerships don't like a mechanic that can't do the job it costs them money as well as you! oh and talk to THE MECHANIC even if they say no demand it because you paid for that service and it's not fixed! he can explain what is happening and you know who is working on it, usually you can tell if they are experienced or not by how clean their hands are!! LOL no kidding! Best of Luck!
