On Monday, I had my serpentine belt replaced and did quite a bit of freeway driving that day afterward. I haven't done any freeway driving since then until today. I noticed that any slight touch of the gas pedal resulted in my rpms going up rapidly and at 60-70 mph, my rpms floated around 4,000. I don't recall where it usually is at that speed but it was unusual enough that it caught my attention. I have the 3.8 liter engine (not supercharged), 117,000 miles. I bought the car used with 77,000 miles so I don't know whether or not it has the original transmission. Could the serpentine belt replacement have anything to do this? What do you think? Thanks.
bandit- I assume you mean the transmission fluid and filter. I had that changed only 2,000 miles ago. They even added some lucas transmission fix with the new fluid. Any other ideas?
