What's wrong with my 04 Ford Ranger Edge 4.0L won't start no fuel pressure?

My lovely husband found a gas can and put what he thought to be gas in our tank and then the truck was sputtering, barely going if you press the gas pedal it'd barely go maybe 20-30mph. Then the next day it got broken into and the column tore up so after I had to let it sit for 5 months before I could get the money to repair the column I finally put it in the shop and now they said they fixed the column but it won't start and there's no fuel pressure? What do you think is going on? Would old gas do this? He thought it was gas what if it was actually cycle oil gas mixture? or ??? What could happen
