Hi, I am a 19 year old male, and for about a week now I have been almost constantly weak and dizzy and light headed. Sometime I will feel fine and other times I will get so weak I cant stand without it feeling like a heart attack. I am always stressed out and full of anxiety because I just started college, but I have always had anxiety ever since i started high school. I have also noticed that I will feel fine, and then I'll get hungry and eat and the symptoms will start once I finish eating. I get knots in my stomach and feel like I'm going to vomit, accompanied with extreme fatigue and dizziness. Also I always have a headache. It is a constant pressure in my head but i think this is from my heck muscles tightening up due to stress. I talked to my grandma about it and she is a smart woman when it comes to health and she told me it sounRAB like anemia so for five days now i take iron and C in the morning and a B complex at night before bed. I wake up and feel decent but once i eat it starts all over again, and it's not every time i eat it's only sometimes that i eat it does it. For example i sat down the other night and ate a ton of food and it didn't faze me.

Also one more thing. It does it the worst when i get out in the cold weather. That's how it started one night.

If it's just been one week, consider that it might be viral.

I recently had a virus with very similar symptoms- and I even went to the emergency room because I thought I was having a heart attack. THEY thought something was wrong and ran an EKG, chest x-ray (looking for clots) and CAT Scan, plus blood and urine work.

My symptoms were- feeling short of breath, chest pain, extreme fatigue and dizziness, muscle pain (sort of like if I had a buildup of lactic acid, if that makes sense). I went to the doctor on a Friday about it, and then it got so bad Sunday I went to the ER. Both my doc and the ER ultimately concluded I had a virus, because all the tests came back clean and I had a mild fever. It has taken several weeks for me to fully shake it.

Edit: I don't mean for this to have anyone NOT take these symptoms seriously, just that there is a possibility it's viral. Chest pain, dizziness, weakness etc. should always merit a trip to the doc or ER.

A virus never crossed my mind because I have never really had a virus to do this to me but Im not real sure if that's what it is or not because I was out one night in the cold at a football game ( I don't play) and I was walking back to my car and turned the heat on and got suddenly weak. About thirty mins later I smoked a cigarrete and thought i was going to pass out literally. (haven't had a cigarette since this started so this is my motivation to quit). The cigarette seemed to worsen the symptoms a lot. At that time I thought it might have been my blood sugar so i went and got some food and it helped a little but not a lot. What confuses me is it is off and on.

My virus was off and on, also. A couple days good, one really bad day, good day, two bad days. That sort of thing.

But you should definitely see a doc to rule out other things. My symptoms mimicked both endocarditis and cardiomyopathy, too (according to my doctor anyway) and they also suspected anemia and checked me for that. If your doc rules everything out then it may turn out it's viral. I would definitely go to the doctor. Just in case.

Yea I'm gonna go within the next few days if it doesn't go away. How long did yours last?

Well, assuming that my last symptoms were it and I won't have more...a month? But I have a crappy immune system...viruses always take a while with me. If you have a good immune system, I don't think it will take you nearly as long.
