Whats wrong with me?

I am a physically fit 17 year old male who plays sports. I am very skinny. I don't drink or smoke and I get plenty of sleep and eat well.

For about five years, I've been able to feel many lymph nodes in my neck and groin area. About eight weeks ago, I noticed some slight yellow coloration in the whites of my eyes under the eyelids. I noticed that my leg hairs had become frizzier and are easily pluckable. I don't think I'm losing any hair, but I'm able to pluck hair with no pain. I had some blood work done a week ago and I found out my bilirubin level is 3.0H mg/dL (the normal range is 0.1-1.2). The doctor thinks it is probably Gilbert's Syndrome. I had an ultrasound soon after and discovered that I have lymph nodes around the body of my pancreas and aorta. Atleast one of these lymph nodes is 2.06 cms. The doctors don't seem too worried, and I am scheduled to have a needle biopsy of my lymph nodes tomorrow.

So, does anybody want to tell me what could be wrong with me besides cancer of some sort? To be honest, I am worried to the point of being unable to focus on schoolwork or anything else. I would love some sort of assuring feedback.

The best thing that you can be doing right now is having that biopsy. It is a simple procedure that will give you the answers you're looking for. Enlarged nodes and the fact that the bilirubin level is above the normal range can be a number of things. Make sure your doctor rules out hodgkins lymphoma or non hodgkins lymphoma. People with lymphoma do have similar symptoms as you. Do you have any other symptoms? Do you have fever? do you have nightsweats? anything else? whatever you think of please tell your doctor. Keep a positive attitude, and please remember whatever it is the medical
treatments today are so advanced that cure is possible. You are young and strong, so keep yoor chin up. All the best.

Enlarged nodes just means that your body could be fighting infection of some kind. And in teenagers with all the germs around such as mono, Epstein-Barr, etc. you could have a virus.

Good luck -- hope your tests are positive.
