What's wrong with all the Apple programs on my computer?

Every single Apple Inc. program on my computer is acting bizarrely. I can access iTunes and Safari fine from my desktop, but when I try to uninstall them, and any of the other Apple programs (including QuickTime, Bonjour, etc) I get the following messages:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" and "The installation source for this product is not available. Verify the source exists and that you can access it"

And when I try to use QuickTime, or any Apple product that isn't iTunes or Safari, I get this message:

"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed"

The annoying thing is that ALL of the programs show up when you go to 'Control Panel > Uninstall Programs', so they're obviously on my computer, but rather then showing their respective icons, the icons that show up for each program look like white, blank pieces of paper (I'm not sure if that's relevant).

I need serious help. I've looked everywhere on forums to no avail, I've tried re-installing but that didn't work, and I'm getting very frustrated because I've had this problem for a long time now. I'm looking for advice from people who actually know what they're talking about, please, and not people telling me obvious things and things of no help just to get a few extra points on here.

Thank you.
