I have a 1990 Honda Prelude which I bought just recently. Overall, the car runs fine but I do have a problem with the air conditioner. The air temperature is cool - but not cold, though that is not the real problem. The real problem is that when I get on the highway/freeway (roughly 55 or faster), the air continues to blow, but gets very hot and humid. At that point it's best for me to just open the windows.
So, here are a couple of questions based on the above:
A) Why is my AC just "cool" and not cold?
B) Why does the AC stop working at highway speeds?
C) How can I tell whether my AC system has R12 or 134?
D) Roughly, what will any needed repairs cost here in south Texas?
Thanks in advance for your help.
