It probably isn't dry socket because I read that dry socket was an infection; however, the dentist gave me well too few pain meds and the same amount of antibiotics. So, is it possible? If not, what should I do about this strange appearance.
I can only see black in a dental mirror.... One of my three stitches came out, this evening (a week and a half after the surgery). I was mowing down on some mochi and *pang* it felt like I was clomping down on aluminum when some mochi swished into that area of my mouth. I felt around up there with my index finger and came to find that I there was a huge "hole" in my gum. It's about a centimeter in diameter, concave from the front of the tooth. Also, I feel a cold coming on. So, I'm a little worried about this. I don't want to develop a huge infection between now and the next time I see my dentist, in four days. I am using some green mouth rinse and some weak pain meds from the knee doctor, but I can't figure out if the mouth wash is antibacterial or just what. Any advice from the experienced?
I ran into a dentist's page where this guy had had one of his clots fall out and developed "a huge gaping hole" in his mouth. The response was that it could take 6 weeks to heal fully. Wow! That sucks! Shouganai. Will this cold cause an infection? I'm really worried about infection. I don't like having them. Should I rinse my nose to avoid it or something?
