I recently came across this site, longhaircareforum.com, and it's a hair care forum for black women- mostly who want to grow their hair long. As a black woman it was weird to read about all the lengths (no pun intended) these people are going to to try to grow their hair long... using all kinds concoctions, pills, and brands generally found in low budget beauty supply stores. I couldn't believe when some said they used Monistat on their HAIR to make it grow! WTF! Then they have all these crazy abbreviations to describe everything... Idk, it's just weird.
I guess it seems pathetic to me because I've always had very long, thick hair and I don't know what it's like to not be able to grow my hair like most of those women. I feel sad that they don't realize that it does't matter what products you use on your hair, IF IT WON'T GROW IT WON'T GROW! It's GENETICS!
