What's up with my iPhone (headphones)?

Hey guys -- this is weird and has only begun to happen recently. I have an iPhone 3G S which is jailbroken -- but it's been fine for the first 5 months I've owned it.

While I'm at the gym, my iPhone beguns to act up. After about 20 minutes or so, the iPhone begins to pause itself, change songs, and activate "Voice Control." I'm not sure if the problem has to do with the iPhone itself (software?), the headset getting sweaty (I AM at the gym), or perhaps the tight-fitting cheap iPhone armband making it act funky.

I've noticed today that the volume slider no longer works on the headset. I have no idea why. That would make it seem like the headset is the issue.... BUT, the iPhone acts fine when I'm not at the gym (aka when the armband isn't on the phone).

What's wrong? This is very frustrating when I'm trying to work out!

it is probably because you are at the gym and when there's movement if you know what I mean the iphone and the ipod touch both have a "shake to shuffle feature" so if you are running on a treadmill that is probably why it changed songs. and also I'm not sure why it went into voice control but probably the headphones with the microphone and volume buttons did that.

So to fix that you should use different headphones that don't have a microphone. and when you are playing a song and you see the play pause previous next buttons on the screen push the HOME button to go back to the Home screen and the music should still play and then push the Sleep/Wake button. and then you can do whatever you want at the gym.
