whats up with my car man?

i have a 1992 chevrolet camaro rs 5.0 v8 automatic and i drive it for awhile maybe like 5 minutes my battery meter goes up and down.....and i have a brand new batery.....but heres the catch i hear some rattling noise from my catylic converter .....i have a brand new fuel pump and fuel filter as well as egr valve and new spark plugs.....but yea like i said im sitting in my car i go drive for about 5 minutes and im looking at my battery meter and the oil and battery meters keeps moving up and down and it finally it dies out on me.....its starts up fine but mostly here the noises coming from my catylic converter.....soooooooooo is it possible my exhaust pipe is getting clogged up by my catylic converter with bad carbon and causing my car to die out on me.....please let me know what u guys think it might be!....than
