What's to become of the many material things,...?

I was looking at a lot of antiques, and how much better quality, more elegant, more creative, they are. What's to become of those things in the future. Everything is so throw away and made cheaply, do you find this a bit sad? Don't get me wrong some of the Technical advanced are creative and great to have.
