What's this teen novel called (has sexual content)?

I read this young adult novel back in 2007 but I can't remember the title or author. Can you help? Please excuse the dodgy content.

The novel starts with a pretty immature teenage boy (the main character) masturbating in the bathroom. His sister is waiting outside to use the bathroom but he refuses to come out because he's, well, busy. He's fantasizing about a girl in his upper-school class.

After this, he discusses through the narration why he wouldn't come out of the bathroom, saying that if he hadn't "finished up" he would have had an erection all day. He also makes reference to what he calls "travelers" (erections caused by vibrations on the school bus, or any vehicle for that matter).

Eventually, after school, he ends up getting a lift home from the girl(who he was fantasizing about)'s family and, of course, he ends up getting a "traveler". As he gets out of the van (at his house) he tries to hide his erection. While doing so he doesn't realise that the girl's little sister has her fingers half-way out of the van door, and he slams it shut. She screams. The dad and older sister see through his trousers that he has an erection, and they assume that he's a masochist because he just broke the little sister's hand.

I can't remember what happened after this, but near the climax, he ends up going to a party with his friends. At the party one of his female friends took some drugs (ecstasy I think), and overdosed. They quickly drive her away (I can't remember why but I assume to the hospital), and in the car they talk about what's happened.

In the last few pages he says that it's been a while (months I think, possibly years) since the events of the novel. As far as I can remember the final passage is a cliché in that he's standing watching the beach at sunset, or... something to that effect.

Sorry, that's all I can remember. I may have got some of the facts wrong too, but I'm almost certain that's the general plot. It wasn't a very popular book but I hope it rings some bells. Thanks.
