What's the way to get the best deal from Bell if switching from another provider

As the title says, I'm tired of my current provider. I have Cogeco (Georgetown) and have 3 receivers 1 HDPVR, 1 HD Receiver and 1 Std Receiver. Switching to Bell will require installation, 3 receivers and HD Programing. Does anybody knows of any "special" offers that may not be on their website?

Is it better to buy the receivers at a discounted price or can I get them free from a year (rent)

My installation with Bell will take place in one week. I was asking the same question whether to rent or buy. In my case, I have opted to buy my HD reciever (this is not the PVR)

Just work out how long buying will pay for itself versus renting. Example: in my case, renting is free for 12 months and then 10.00/month IDEFINITELY i.e. as long as you are with Bell. Buying on special this month, machine will end up costing 99.00 but it`s yours and will easily last 4 - 5 years. Plus signing up on-line, you get another 25.00 credit
So my 75.00 will have been paid up versus renting in the first 19 months: 12 months free + 7 months at 10.00
Renting - you keep paying 10.00/month indefinitely....buying, clear of monthly charges after the 19th month.

hope this makes sense, maybe my explanation is not very clear.
 
Thanks for the answer, I agree buying is a better deal if you get the discounted pricing on the receivers. The issue is if I can get special pricing on the 3 receivers I need.

Also, do they offer any programing specials ?
 
yes i belive they do if you take the two year contract, Check out the details on the site for the receivers.

If you bundle with one other service, you get discounts on BOTH services. And if you take The Movie Package with one of the a la carte, you get a GREAT price 11.00/month versus 14.00 at Videotron BUT you get many EXTRAS such as MPIX + TCM !!!!! + AMC + TMN ON DEMAND !!!! + many others.

Will also get 2 months of this package free....

As I said, I have not been hooked up yet, but I am very happy with all the choices I will be having with BELL....I have been too long at the mercy of Videotron's limited offerings.
