what's the use of "windows media center" anyway?

I use K-lite mega codec pack to play back all my media files, using windows media player, the "windows media center" app is utterly useless, never actually be able to use it for anything good.

i mean without it, you can still use your digi cams, camcorders, DVRs and playback all kinds of files using K-lite right?
