It's a pretty old car but it's well managed. My average highway speed is about 70 mph @ about 2500 rpms. When I get to 80 mph, the rpms are close to 3000.

I'm afraid to push it to the point my engine blows out.. but how hard do you think I can push it (if necessary)?

What is safe rpms for an SUV at that age?

I would imagine its limited to 98 Mph. It could be lower tho. You didnt say what size engine it has. You dont have a race car, and shouldn't push your vehicle to top speed. It is not what it was designed for originally and warn out suspension and stuff doesnt help. Honestly just drive it normally, itll last longer, and its safer.
