Whats the Symptions of a EGR valve going bad on a 1992 Toyota Truck?

I think my EGR valve went bad on my truck. It keeps rev up on me and someone told me it mite be the egr valve..please help
 
You can check it by turning the truck off, then unplug the EGR wiring harness and restart your truck. If there is a change in the idle (for the better) it's probably bad and needs replaced. Usually if the EGR valve is bad the engine will miss/ spit and sputter. If you live near an Autozone, they will check it for you for free. Is your check engine light on?
