The song went something like "... took my girlfriend"

I know it's not a lot information, but it's been ages since I last saw it.
There was a car accient in the music video, and the girl died. perhaps she was a ghost then?...
and it was a black guy singing. but i don't think it was rap..

please help, if you know.
