What's the solution for double entries?

Mac Ibook, OS 10.3.9 (panther), Palm T3 (bought open box). Getting my contacts/calendar databases doubled at each hotsynch. I'm afraid to hotsynch any more-I'll have eight copies of my mother's info (believe me, one is more than enough!)

I know from past experioence that this is
a common problem with the Mac platform, but usually is connected to trying to synch your Palm with more than one computer. I'm only using a single Mac. However, this is a replacement Palm. Could that have something to do with it?
 
Seriously, R U practicing your English here? I'm making a big assumption, based on your profile (new member, teacher, from China, age early 20s). I would guess going on internet forums would be a good way of doing this. Or maybe you're just a new techie, and excited about all of this. (I saw you had 21 posts in the 2 days since you've joined.)

A U real? (You could be a computer program-don't laugh, I've gotten emails from programs, mostly on dating-the emailer was a "bot" trying to get me to sign up for the service)

Please explain-maybe you just sent me the wrong email. Maybe you're a spy and this is code-oops, you've been discovered-it's the Chinese who have been behind Al Queda all along. They destabiliize the west, have them go to war with the non-Chinese East and pick up the pieces and rule the world! So if that were the case then this would be a message announcing that something is happening, or ready to happen? No, better yet you're from Centac (a super secret US agency), and you're behind the global war on terror. See it was all a big mistake-you guys were trying to nab the world's biggest drug dealers and somehow everything went way off and 9/11 happened. Maybe you're just some business person, and I'm now supposed to send you the computers you ordered. How about this? Can I interest you in a beautiful bridge I have for sale (beautiful stone arches, one of the last of its kind)

I think I have too much time on my hands. Time to get a job...
