It is a 60 ft high tower and it is a very scary experience for most recruits.
I am not afraid of heights and I had trust in my trainers and my "seat", but that one moment when you turn your back and lean over the edge you are very scared.
Then once you pass that moment, you simply rappel down the tower and its fun. It's kind of funny to watch those poor recruits who freeze up there or get tangled.
Rappelling for me whether it be a tower, cliff or helo is always the same experience. Before we did it I looked very forward to it, once there or once it was my turn I got very anxious and nervous, and then once the ascent began it was very fun. And once done I always wanted to do it again.
Just jump and yell out "MARINE CORPS"..
