Ok here's the thing. I am currently writing my book, I plan for it to be a series but that's not that important right now. I wanted to know what the process is for publishing a book. Should I self publish? Should I get an agent? What are some good publishing companies? And if it helps I live in the USA, I don't know if publishing procedures are different for other countries but if it helps get me the answer then that would be great.
About my, its a Young Adult Fantasy/Adventure novel. I would prefer not to have to self publish, seeing how as I do not have the capital for that. Do publishers Copyright the book for you or do you have to do it yourself?
I know that I am not done writing my novel yet but I wanted to know what the process is before I finish and I start running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Do the Publishers edit your book and/or do the cover art? I love writing but I just do not know what the proper process is for this. Any and all help would be appreciated.
