It has a new fuel pump in tank(two months old). When I turn the key switch on I can hear fuel pump prime. When I turn engine over it wont start. I can pour a little gas in throttle body and she will fire up and run. When I switch engine off, sometime it will fire up but most of the time I have to pour more fuel into throttle body. What could cause such as this? Thanks in advance.

VAT in a 1989? I have never seen that! You need to check your fuel pressure. The injectors take allot of pressure to work right, you could have a clogged filter, a weak fuel pump, the sock on the fuel pump ( if it is in the tank) could have trash on it, fuel pressure regulator could be bad. Be careful pouring gas into a injection system, to much and you will flood the pistons and create allot of compression that the motor can't handle! Check your injectors and make sure they are working properly. It sounds like you do not have enough injector or fuel pressure to fire the motor, when you shut the engine off and it sometimes starts back ,it is still starting off the fuel you added. when that is used up it will stop starting. Check your fuel pressure first!
