Hi. A friend of mine remembered she liked this book very much but she can't remember the title or the author's name. She thinks the author was Scandinavian or German or something like that. Here's the summary of the book as she remembers it:
The plot takes place in a fictional country where the main character goes to spend his holiday, at the seaside. During his stay there, the citizens begin to protest against the regime and the guy gets very panicky, he's afraid the things might get out of control and he'll just die alone, away from home. One night, even though it was forbidden to walk the streets at night, he goes out and gets shot (by mistake or so...). The next day, the conflict is settled and it turns out this guy is the only victim.
