I'm working with a blow-down wind tunnel with a diffuser-settling chamber- contraction-enterance duct-test section configuration. The problem I'm having is that the velocity profile doesn't match the one in books. The airflow velocity seems to go up beyond the center of the the duct before it decreases in the boundary layer. The flow out of the fan is uniform apparently. Any idea as to what the culprit might be?
What's the main reason for non-uniform velocity profile in a wind-tunnel?
