also whats the difference between catholic and baptist and christian ?

Catholics and Baptists are both different denominations of Christianity, so all Catholics are Christian, and all Baptists are Christian, but not all Christians are Baptists or Catholics, though all Christian sects originated in Catholicism.

As for a majority of blacks being Baptist and Latinos being Catholic, this is all rooted in history.

The majority of slave owners here in the US were Baptists. They forced their slaves to go to their churches and to take Christian names and forced the Baptist church upon them.

Spain has long been a heavily Catholic country, at least since the middle ages, if not longer. It was the Spanish who went to Cuba and Puerto Rico and South America and Mexico. They colonized these places, destroyed the natives, etc.

First, both denominations are Christian denominations. Some people think that Catholics are not Christians, but that is false. Historically, Baptists have had a strong following in the deep south region of the United States, where Blacks were first brought to this country to serve as slaves on plantations. The Latin community was first conquered by Spain (hence many of them speak Spanish), and at the time they were conquered, Spain had a strong Catholic following, which was brought to the natives. Their descendants inherited Catholicism as well as the Spanish language. Protestantism in the United States comes mainly from Britain and Germany, and Catholicism generally comes from the Latin countries (including France), and Poland.
