"These Happy Golden Years" is one of the "Little House" series taking place when Laura is a teenager. It could be considered young adult as its category. It is definitely historical fiction although it's also somewhat autobiographical since Laura is the protagonist in all of her stories, Therefore, to pin it down exactly as to genre is somewhat difficult. The plot could be considered a roman a clef which is a French term for a work of fiction where the characters are real persons portrayed fictitiously. Whether the book in question is more autobiographical than fictional can't really be discovered as Laura is no longer living. The plot of the story includes her romance with Almanzo Wilder, her actual future husband, so there must be much in the book that is actually true. Still, you'd be safe calling it historical fiction, I think.
