Whats the EASIEST way to turn a Sprint Palm Pre phone into a modem for a Mac laptop?

I have a Palm Pre with Sprint mobile service and a Macbook Pro laptop from Apple. I have tried to look for Youtube videos and web articles for an EASY, STEP-BY-STEP method to be able to use my phone as a MODEM and found the instructions too complicated (or not customized for Macs). I heard it is supposed to be easy to set this up, so I just need some instructions. By the way, I do not have "My Tether" or whatever, so please start from the very beginning when giving instructions and assume that I do not know anything about these matters (cuz, I kind of dont).
