what's the difference in these math games (triangle, square, pentagon)?

i can't find the actual game anywhere.
and before people say its the magic square, its NOT.
the sides must all be the same.
triangle : numbers 1-6
square: numbers 1-8
pentagon: numbers 1-10

a solution to the triangle game is: 12
6 + 1 + 5
5+ 3 + 4
4+ 2 + 6

square: 12
2 + 7 + 3
3 + 8 + 1
1 + 6 + 5
6 + 4 + 2

pentagon: 14
3 + 10 + 1
1 + 9 + 4
4 + 8 + 2
2 + 7 + 5
5 + 6 + 3

mathematically, how do you actually find these solutions?
