What's the difference in the education in someone who works in a high end...

...salon and someone who works...? In a regular salon?
I have noticed that I get a MUCH better hair cut at the higher end salons (200.00 dollar cut) Vs. a 20 dollar cut. Do they study differently? What's the difference in their education? What is their average monthly/anual wage?

It`s nothing to do with "education" as such, given enough time you could teach a monkey to cut hair but it wouldn`t be very good at it......it`s all about "SKILL"...a school education does not teach you a job...training does . Just like there are good mechanics, and bad mechanics..they could have the same level of general education, but one is more skilful with tools than the other

Ok... I've work in both... high end first... The initial schooling is the same. Each state has different guidelines but it's the same... we have to all pass the SAME state board. That's about where the similarities end. In a "regular" salon you may get someone straight out of beauty school who doesn't know all that much.... at a "high end" salon they have to go through a whole other training course. I worked at a high end salon for a year and 1/2 as an assistant befor I was allowed to audition for a chair. In the year and 1/2 they had Specialist come in and and teach color, cutting, customer service ect. But.... that All being said.... since I started working at a "regular" salon I noticed people not having 100% faith in what I say, where as they would in the "high end" salon. Funny how more people b**ch about a $20 hair cut than a $65 hair cut.... so really it all depends on where you go and who you happen to get.
