...other branches of military? I got a question about these 2 branches of the United States Military because right now I'm a 18 year old first year college freshman student living in the United States and plan on joining the military. I just want to know the difference between Coast Guard and Navy because they both look very similar and I think they both have to deal with staying in the ship and staying the ocean area. They both as well have the same Military Rank badge names.
What are the main job and goals the Navy and Coast Guard do for the United States Military that makes it different from other branches?
and I think people also don't carry any guns or weapons in the Navy or Coast Guard unless he or she join the special forces of the Navy which are the "Navy Seals".
I don't think Coast Guards do any fighting do they?
I want to know more about Coast Guard though, I don't know what they seem to do.
Also, I plan on joining the military as an officer so I think it would be better for me to be enrolled in ROTC right now while in college?
