Whats the difference between a means tested, and non means tested bursary when

relating to nursing courses? If you study a degree, you may be eligible for a means tested sum of money,

If you study a diploma you may be eligible for a larger sum of money but this is NON means tested, what does this mean? Im 16 and I just want to know what this means :P thanks x
