Whats the debate over "Light skin vs Dark Skin" ?

More and more everyday it seems like society is getting more and more ignorant. In the area I live in there is a lot of ethnic people. More so blacks and spanish people. But I'm going to just get right to the point. It seems to me like Dark-skin people aren't accepted anymore. It just makes me so upset because I admire my skin tone (dark skin) very much. But when I see people's web pages and they say the don't like dark-skin /haitians and prefer light skin girls only. Its so annoying ! It makes me think what do you see in a light skin person & you don't in a dark skin person. Not only in the dating world, as well as Music Videos. You hardly see dark-skin models. Most are spanish or light skin. I don't mean to offend anyone with this post. But what is wrong with people ?. Like for the people who prefer light skin over dark sin. Please tell me why ?. Like if you were to see an ugly light skin girl or a very pretty dark-skin girl would you still prefer the light-skin?. Its kinda like racism amougst the african american community. Who can agree ?
 
I agree with you, love. This light skin dark skin sh!t needs to end. It's 2009 now and the slave days are over. I'm a light brown skin tall, handsome black man with hazel green eyes. My fiance' is a beautiful shade of medium brown. And I have dated quite a few ladies who were as dark as Kenya Moore. I love Kenya Moore. She is a beautiful, young and talented black woman. I don't care if she is dark. She has a nice body and beautiful facial features. So what if a woman is dark skin? As long as she's pretty and a good person, that's all that should really matter. Some of these light skin girls in my neighborhood think that they are all of that. Just because they're light skin doesn't make them drop dead gorgeous. And they need to know that.

i totally agree, skin tone should not matter
there are so many beautiful people in this world, but they are all different. Do people say "I only like green-eyed people"
no, they dont because that's something that just varies from person to person,
skin color should be treated the same way.

mann its always been that way and i highly doubt its ever going to change]:
me being a light skinned hispanic myself, i feel that a lot of guys prefer my darker skinned hispanic friend over me, but hey i really dont have a problem with it, i still have my luck with guys on occasions
