What's the big difference between the PS3 40 gig and the 80 gig?

I know the hardrive is bigger, I know it doesn't have flash card reader (could one be added on through the USB?). I know it only has two usb ports and I know it's not backwards compatible. Is it really worth getting an 80 gig vs. getting a 40 gig?
