ps3 is much more powerful, with a better processor, wireless internet and bluetooth, centralized, free online access, a Blu-Ray (high definition) disc player, and high definition graphics. ps2 is not very powerful, but still has a huge library of games. It is also dirt cheap, so good if you're on a budget.
