What's the best way to raise the suspension of a Toyota Corolla up 1 inch ?

(2006 Corolla)? This summer was quite a mess on the roads, lots of shredded tractor trailer tire treads ( big ones too ! )
I noticed that large SUVs simply drove over them and never hit them, because they have 9" to 11" of ground clearance, but my lowly Corolla only has 6" of ground clearance, so it hit those chunks of rubber pretty hard at 80 mph !!!
I now was wondering if it might be possible to raise my car up a bit? Maybe add some spacer blocks to the springs?
I only want to just raise the car up about an inch (or two), to about 7" (or 8") of ground clearance.

Is there any low-cost way of doing this , using the tires and springs that the car has right now?

(Another benefit of this will be that my front bumper won't keep hitting the high concrete curbs when I pull up to park at the mall. )
