I don't think so. I agree that some people will eventually come around once they see that gays have been married for some time and the sky hasn't fallen, but for some of the haters, that is their worst fear, that the so-called "gay lifestyle" will become accepted as normal.

...threat to civilization? I make the argument that if one believes that gay marriage will lead to man marrying dog, etc, then why haven't heterosexual marriages led to incest and man marrying 4 year old girls?

I don't think calling anti-gay marriage people "vermin" as a speaker in SF did yesterday, or boycotts and such are a good way to bring people around.

The only way to really show them is by allowing it to happen and letting them see for themselves that its not going to effect civilization any more then LGBT being couples now.

Yeah, I don't know if calling the other side vermin is going to win over the people. But we aren't trying to convince everyone. We are trying to convince certain people - specifically those who don't believe that gay marriage will cause the world to come to an end, but vote against it because they think they should, or would be in favor of it, but are convinced that it means churches will be required to marry gay couples if they don't want to and that kids are going to have to take homosexuality 101 in school. That's why it doesn't help to say that if you don't vote for us, you are vermin. There are some vermin out there, but we need a way to isolate them from the rest of the people, not lump all those peole together.
