What's the best way to memorize English words?

Hello Everyone. I'm a student who's into English study.
Before I begin, Please consider the fact English isn't my nation's language into account.
So there must be many, many wrong sentences even in this. Hopefully you can understand this...

My problem is this:
Although I really like studying English and using it in everyday life, I recently realized My English is not as good as I thought. The trigger of this was the TOEIC test I took the other day-
After the score check, I got shock and couldn't think of anything for a while.

Well sorry to digress the Topic,. Anyway, after that, I had come to the conclusion that my vocabulary is my weakness(Especially the ones concerning business English:() and I decided to focus on vocabulary study for a while. However, I still don't know how should I memorize many, many English words efficiently. The 'efficiently' I just typed here means 'as many words as possible, as quickly as possible.'

Just for your Information, I just write down the words I studied on that day in the margin of my text book. And I usually highlight the words I don't know in yellow and add some definitions onto the below white space of the paragraphs.Since it takes lots of time, I don't make any word note books separately. If I have to say, I'm the type who uses his text book itself as his vocabulary notebook.
Sigh....(in many ways...)
Well,
What kind of methods do you guys use when you're in trouble like this?
Make a word note?
Use a certain PC program?

Please let me know your ways so I won't become a knucle head. Thank you so much.
