What's the best way to go about trading in my Mazda 6 2003?

I have a 2003 Mazda 6, I owe about 10,000 on the car, yes I know I owe more than the car is worth. I am having problems after problems with the car so I am done with it. I know the economy is bad and my credit isn't so good. So what are my chances of getting a new car, I am thinking of leasing it...which car company should I go with or does anyone have a similiar experience and can offer some advice?
