whats the best way to go about getting a VERY cheap car like ASAP?

just moved out of my rents house and I DO NOT want to continue to depend on my bf for transportation, he loves it I hate being dependent like that.

I need a car, but I have VERY little money right now, since Im trying to find an apartment, so where should I start to find a car?
