Looks like you already answered your own question. Sounds like you know what you are doing. Do you really expect someone to write something else here that you don't already know?

There is no "magic bullet" for getting published. It takes writing talent, plus hard work, determination, and luck. You have to keep writing, and keep submitting.

"Luck" cannot be overstated. The main thing is, even if you are in the right place at the right time, but you don't have the other stuff done, then luck is no good for you. You have to take care of what you can control. And then with the hard work and luck, your dream might come true.

And what is your dream, exactly? Even if your writing is awesome, it may not cater to the right audience for your dream. Think of how crappy "Twilight" is as far as literature goes. Yet, tons of people love that book. So the author's dream came true, right? But I'd shudder to have my name associated with something so written so badly. You have to stay true to yourself.

You already know all this! Best of luck to you!
