I do a lot of long distance walking to lose weight - about 11 miles a day.
However, now that my weight is down to a decent level I want to build up my stamina. I can walk 11 miles without really noticing it now, but I tried to go jogging the other morning and managed to run for all of thirty seconds before I got out of breath.
So, being slightly better on the bike I thought I'd use that to try and improve my stamina and my fast twitch muscles (figure all of the walking has killed off the fast twitch in return for improving the slow twitch muscles)
What I'm looking for is a routine to use on my exercise bike to improve my stamina and strengthen my legs rather than a fat burning routine. I've read up a bit on using interval training but im not sure at what intensity i should be working out at, or for how long, or what constitutes a rest period.

Height - 6'3"
Weight - 90kg
Age - 26
