I'm a pro drummer, and I mainly play drumkit, but I've been asked to perform for 6 months in an Asian hotel as a percussionist with a guitar & vocalist duo (jazz, blues, top 40, etc). They use some drum & bass backing tracks, so I'm just wondering what percussion would be appropriate. Apparently they'll be working in the lobby of a 5-star hotel. Obviously tambourine, maracas, cowbell, etc, would be useful, but would congas or timbales be worth getting? The duo isn't really sure what they need either (until we get there).
