whats the best gaming headset turtle beach, tritton, atros?

I have used Astro A40s and Turtle Beach x1, x3, and x4s. Each of these headsets were AMAZING, no matter how you consider them. From what I've heard, Trittons > Astros, but I don't have personal experience with them. My general idea is Tritton > Astro > Turtle Beach. Turtle Beach x1s are ~$50 (Bestbuy, etc) and are a GREAT buy. x3s are pretty much the same ($100) but wireless. Astros are $250 because you have to buy both the headset and mixamp. Trittons are around $150, but once again, I don't have experience with them. Starting with the Turtle Beaches, I have a pair of x1s. In CoD4, I can hear a defuse from VERY far away. the Astros and Trittons only get better.

Hope I helped :) if I were you; I'd go for the TB x1s. Cheap, good quality, and they work for both PC and Xbox 360.

BTW - in terms of longevity - I've had my x1s for over 5 months and they haven't even degraded the slightest bit. no idea about the others, though.
 
It depends on what you're willing to spend. I have some Turtle Beach X1's, and they work great for the price. You can hear everything and the mic is flawless.

If you're willing to spend a little extra, then an Astro headset might be the best choice. I'm not too familiar with it or Tritton headsets, though.
