...want to have to deal with criminals? i have a bad back,i find smoking high grade weed releives the pain better than any perscription drug,infact the only perscription drugs that work are opiate based,therefore you build up a tolerance quickly and need to take more each time for same releif,and quite quickly become dependent,i was scoring off local dealers but it was risky and unsavoury,i am thinking about growing my own,as this will in effect kill two birds with one stone,ie i wont be a smack head,i wont have to put up with gangsters,and my pain will be a distant memory.
this is not a motive,its real circumstances,its safer to do it myself,thats mitigation not motive.
 
Having a medical condition isn't a defense to this crime. If you get caught you will go to jail for a very long time. If you live in a state that allows marijuana prescriptions, you should get one to obtain the drug legally, otherwise, you may want to consider re-locating if at all possible to a state that allows it. Just know that if you get caught (which is a big IF so long as you are only growing a few plants for personal use), you will be in trouble.
