What's that movie where some virus or something takes over the cities & spreads through the net or something?

Some people get out of the cities and head into the country side and throw away their mile phones etc? Any remember that one? Thanks.

Think towards the end of the film a guy goes back into a basement to try and disconnect the mainframe or something?
Some type of computer virus afaik? Not biological. Thanks
