The boy got grounded after going to his grandmothers or something, Then he gets sucked into a book. In the book he is saved by a mermaid, the mermaid becomes a human after making a wish.
There were pirates in it, oh and the mermaid turned back into a mermaid at the end when they were trying to escape from a collapse building.
